Need Holiday Inspiration? Check Out December’s EDL Box Now!

November 18, 2020

Although this is a strange year, some things are still going forward like normal. One of these things? Eat Drink Lucky continues to release monthly boxes for your pleasure and enjoyment!

Now, Thanksgiving is obviously on the horizon, but so is Christmas and other holidays. If you’re feeling unsure what to get friends or family members this year, EDL might be the perfect thing!

Whether it’s one box or a subscription, there are plenty of things to choose from. Check out what to expect in the December boxes below!

Eat: a 16 piece collection of Dean’s Sweets Maine Mix

Dean's Sweets featured in the December Eat Drink Lucky box

Love chocolate? If you have a bit of a sweet tooth (like me) then you may already know that Dean’s Sweets is a go-to for chocolates in Portland. You’ll get these delectable chocolates in the EDL December box:

  • Blueberry: The real Maine thing, with a twist of lemon to bring out the flavor.
  • Needham (coconut): A traditional Maine (potato!) confection updated by using Maine Cold River Vodka (distilled from Maine potatoes), with shredded coconut as custom would dictate.
  • Maple: Maine dark maple syrup combines with a white chocolate center. Smooth and sweet, but not too sweet.
  • Maine Sea Salt Caramel: A perfect blend of sweet and salt, combining butter, sugar, dark chocolate and a sprinkle of Maine sea salt on top.

What’s not to love about that? With 16 pieces, there’s enough to share or not share, if you aren’t feeling so inclined!

Drink: Owl & Whale Persimmon Bitters

December's Eat Drink Lucky box features Owl & Whale Persimmon bitters

Persimmon bitters sound a little out there, but it’s usually flavors that you least expect that work the best for cocktails. Think light cocktails that feature Prosecco during holiday parties to perfectly showcase the light flavor of these bitters by Owl & Whale!

Lucky: A pair of rocks glasses by Akakpo Designs, designed by Ebenezer Akakpo

These rocks glasses from Akakpo Designs are truly stunning and are a mesmerizing addition to any home bar. More than that, they feature beautiful symbols from designer Ebenezer Akakpo’s native Ghana.

You’ll be able to choose the symbol that you like most from the selections including Abundance, Endurance, Greatness, and Hope. No matter what message you choose your rocks glass to embody, wouldn’t it be nice to start off 2021 with a new feeling to propel you forward?

Extras!

Want to go above and beyond the subscription box? There are some extra add-ons you can consider as well!

A Secret Stash Box:

For $25, get three Bixby Bars, Gingered Up, Whippersnapper, Heart’s Delight, three individual-sized bags of Vintage Maine Kitchen potato chips in Cookout, Ordinary, and Thankful and choose between a Vena’s Fizz House infusion kit of Blackberry Stinger or Shipwreck.

Another item in the December Eat Drink Lucky box as an add on is the Sprinkles necklace

Oh and if you want even more? You can add a Sprinkles necklace by Portland designer, Sharon Herrick, IlluminatedMe, to your Secret Stash box for $39. This necklace is a beautiful piece all by itself and, like the name implies, evokes a sprinkle cookie.

Don’t forget: very limited EDL dish towel subscriptions

Eat Drink Lucky also offers limited dish towel subscriptions

Love the idea of the EDL subscription but not sure you have a friend who would want the box? Don’t forget that Eat Drink Lucky also has very limited three month and six month dish towel subscriptions available as well.

Yes, I did say a dish towel subscription. But this could be the perfect thing for someone that takes a lot of pride in their home, especially if they spend a lot of time there. Which, if I’m being honest, that’s a lot of us right now due to COVID.

These are some of the prettiest dish towels I’ve ever seen, and of course, they are all Maine made and extremely high quality. Again, these are artisan quality dish towels, so if you have a friend or family member who that fits the bill for, I just did some of your Christmas shopping for you.

There’s something that I think everyone seems to love about subscription boxes, myself included. It’s like getting a little gift every month, and right now, some extra self-indulgence might be what we all need. Happy shopping!
